As the saga around the deportation of activist Miguna Miguna continues to elicit sharp criticism, Law Society of Kenya (LSK) council member and Rift Valley prominent lawyer Benard Kipkoech Ngetich has cautioned the government against bringing to disrepute the international standing of the country through continuous defiance of court orders.

Speaking in his office, Ngetich said that blatant disregard of the law could breed anarchy which could likely scare international investors keen on putting resources in the country.

"Much as there could be some lapses in certain issues or where a court officer has not considered certain aspects, the government or the citizens have a recourse to pursue in having the court officer whether judge or magistrate be removed," he said.

He said owing to disclosure by Interior CS Fred Matiangi that the former Minister for Immigration, the late Otieno Kajwang could have erred in issuing the passport to Miguna Miguna, thorough investigations should be carried out by police and responsible persons charged.

Ngetich further added that as LSK, they will engage the National Assembly in developing a framework for fastracking determination of cases within a maximum of two years of its lodging so that justice can serve its purpose.
