President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have been challenged to treat opposition leader Raila Odinga as statesman and work with him in developing the country.
Ex- State House advisor Joshua Kutuny, who currently represents Cherangany constituency says Odinga is ‘not ordinary’ and should be accorded respect.
“I have always respected Raila and I urge all leaders in Jubilee to do the same. He is a statesman who should be treated differently,” he said without making direct reference to the two leaders.
Upon Odinga’s arrival from US on Friday, Kutuny was among few Jubilee leaders who condemned police brutality on Odinga’s supporters.
At NTV on Monday, Kutuny urged Jubilee leadership to reach the opposition leader and strike a deal that would help the country move ahead.
“I have said umpteenth times that we should be careful when handling him. Using force only charges him and time has come for the State reach him for dialogue,” he further said.
Last week, Kutuny had advised the state to come ensure police give Odinga proper security, a move that did not bind anyway.
