Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has been urged to bury differences with his boss James Ongwae for the sake of development in the region.
Maangi has been embroiled in a tussle and recently he publicly supported the candidature of Senator Chris Obure in Kisii county gubernatorial race.
Speaking on Wednesday in Kisii town, former Mayor Alloys Moseti said the strained relationship between the duos was impeding development.
“Sometimes we should not allow our political differences impede development and time has come for Maangi to eat a humble pie and work with Mr Ongwae,” he said.
“I think Maangi got it wrong. He has ambitions to be Governor and what he doesn’t know is that the development record of Ongwae will be also subjected to him. He should respect the governor and work together,” he said.
However, on Tuesday when addressing reporters, Maangi maintained that he was working closely with the governor and ruled out reports that he has not been talking to the governor for a couple of months.
“I have no differences with the Governor and we have been working closely. However, my political rights should be respected and whoever I support should not be an issue,” he said.
