Nominated MP Oburu Odinga is at it again- telling Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale to respect opposition leader Raila Odinga lest he be cursed.

Oburu who spoke in Kisumu said were it not for Raila, Duale would be nobody in Kenyan politics.

“Raila handpicked you from an unrespectable position serving tea in Garissa town. Raila is older than you, I am older than you. If you don’t respect us we will curse you,” he said.

Recently when he addressed the press in Mombasa to officially announce his withdrawal from the race for the position of East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP, the former Bondo MP told Duale to respect the former prime minister.

Duale, in April while on a live Citizen Television interview told Oburu to quit the race because of his ‘advanced’ age. Oburu is currently 74.

He said then he would mobilise MPs to reject Oburu’s nomination in Parliament claiming he was riding on his brother, Raila’s popularity to win the EALA seat. Oburu, later on withdrew from the race.

Duale has remained Raila’s principal critiques within the Jubilee government. He has constantly criticized Raila for being insincere in his efforts to fight corruption saying he “dines with the corrupt".

When Raila visited Kajiado in May and told the Maasai to stop selling their land, Duale termed Raila’s message as inflammatory saying the opposition chief was spreading tribalism.

Raila defended himself saying he only advised members of the Maasai community to stop selling their land because they would lack zones for grazing their livestock.
