[Photo| the-star]Kisumu Senator Fred Outa and Nyando MP Jared Okello have asked Deputy President William Ruto and other Rift Valley leaders to respect Opposition leader Raila Odinga.The two Nyanza politicians cautioned Ruto and the other Kalenjin leaders that they might need Raila's political support in 2022.The DP has expressed interest in vying for presidency in 2022.Speaking at Chemelil Sugar Company in Muhoroni on Saturday. Outa and Okello accused Ruto of insulting the ODM party leader despite having been mentored into politics by Raila.Outa told the Kalenjin leaders who had attended the event, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, Tinderet MP Julius Melly and Mosop MP Vincent Tuwei to stop bashing their Luo neighbours.“It is not a guarantee that the people you are currently working with will back you in 2022, going by their history since the entry of multiparty democracy in 1992,” Outa said.On his part, Sang noted that politics should not divide the two communities.“We supported Raila in 2007 and he owes us the support. When the time comes ... we will come so that he pays us,” Sang said.
