Kitui County senator David Musila has told Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to respect senior Ukambani leaders.
Musila on Saturday said that Mutua has shown no respect to senior Ukambani leaders, a move he said threatens the unity of locals in the region.
In a statement on Saturday, Musila hit out at Mutua accusing him of propagating personal selfish politics.
“Governor Mutua should know that Ukambani has senior politicians and leaders who need respect,” said the Kitui senatorial lawmaker.
The Kitui senator stated that Mutua’s bad style of leadership is negatively influencing Ukambani region.
The Kitui senator said that they will not allow Mutua to continue dividing the region with selfish style of politics.
Musila took issue with Mutua over the recent visit by President Uhuru Kenyatta to the region saying that the governor used Uhuru’s tour to propagate his own political agenda at the expense of the whole Ukambani region.
Musial urged Ukambani residents not to be swayed by selfish politics saying that it was a threat to realization of development.
He also asked locals across the region to remain united and support leaders who genuinely have their interests at heart.
