The lawmaker said that the recent unnecessary attacks on the Judiciary in the recent past were unacceptable.

“Jubilee leaders led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who has been in the forefront defending Jubilee impunity must respect the Judiciary and the orders issued by the courts,” said Oyioka.

The lawmaker asked leaders from Nyamira and Kisii counties to defend the Chief Justice David Maraga who has been on the receiving end in the recent past.

He said that it was shameful for respectable leaders to go on continuously insulting the Judiciary yet it was headed by a man from the community.

"As a community we deserve respect and Maraga should be accorded his respect because he serves in a senior position. Jubilee leaders are only interested in giving orders to courts but not following court orders. The constitution is very clear that the Judiciary is independent and no one should question the decisions made by the courts,” he added.

He reiterated that Maraga will serve as the CJ until his term ends whether Jubilee leaders like it or not.
