Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Susan Kihika has called on the opposition to respect the presidency.
Speaking on the phone, Kihika said the presidency is a symbol of unity for the nation and ought to be respected by all Kenyans.
She said even if Cord doesn't want to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta, then they should respect his office.
"What happened in Parliament on Wednesday was a show of disrespect to the Office of the Presidency by Cord members. If they feel they cannot respect Uhuru as an individual, then let them just respect the office," said Kihika.
She called on Cord members to treat others the same way they would want to be treated the day they will be in power.
"They should respect those in leadership if they also want us to respect them the day they will take charge of the country," she said.
