Machakos town MP Victor Munyaka has said all MPs should respect the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Munyaka said the duo's handshake will help ensure peace and development prevails in the country.
The Jubilee MP spoke while issuing bursaries to orphans and vulnerable children in his constituency on Wednesday.
Munyaka said with peace, the tourism industry will attract more tourists thereby improving the country's economy.
“Raila and Uhuru’s handshake was very crucial for the stability of the nation, we should obey their decision. Let us catch up with the time that we wasted during the post-election stalemate," Munyaka added.
He urged the police to crackdown illegal betting operators who have flooded the market especially in Mutituni within Machakos constituency stating the trade has led to increased insecurity in the area.
“We have put in place good strategies to ensure that all children within the county get free education to the secondary level and that will reduce insecurity and drug abuse in the area since the use of illegal drugs in Mutituni is become a total menace in the constituency, as I urge the police to act swiftly to combat crime," Munyaka added.
