Nominated Senator Beth Mugo has asked Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho to apologise to the nation for making condescending remarks about President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Mombasa on Monday, Mugo asked Joho to ensure he respects the Presidency from now henceforth.
"Governor Joho should respect the president. President Uhuru Kenyatta is tasked with the management of the country and it is condescending to have leaders make demeaning remarks about him. This is unacceptable and Joho should thus apologize to the people of Kenya," said Mugo.
Mugo further criticized Joho for the remarks saying it was a way of the county government of Mombasa to hide the poor development record of the Joho regime.
Mugo said Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar had hinted to her that the county was experiencing slow development due to Joho's leadership.
"Joho is behaving this way to hide the true picture of what is going on in Mombasa. He has achieved little over the five years and is looking for ways of covering that up," added Mugo.
