A section of religious leaders from the North Rift region, have called on the public to show respect to women aspirants who are vying for political seats across the country.
Speaking in Eldoret town, the clergy led by Bishop Christopher Ruto of the Anglican Church of Kenya - Eldoret Diocese, pointed out that women deserved to be treated in the same way men are.
The leaders also asked aspirants who lost during party primaries to concede defeat and move on.
“Those who lost in nominations should accept defeat and unite with the winners so as to work together for the sake of peaceful Kenya,” Bishop Ruto said.
He added: “We should also encourage all women aspirants and give them the respect that their male counterparts enjoy.”
