With yet another scandal reportedly haunting the troubled National Youth Service, ODM MP has a way out to save the corruption- dogged institution.
According to the reports, NYS has lost over Kshs. 9 billion barely three years after it was lost other billions of shillings in controversial fashions- a scandal that claimed the careers of many civil servants who were accused of foreseeing the siphoning of the taxpayer's money.
With the new scandal, Nominated MP Prof. Jackline Oduol is asking the government to get more details on how NYS is being run.
" I believe the key is to get more details into how NYS is being run given what has happened because this is the second time we are experiencing this," Prof. Oduol said during an interview on Citizen TV on Monday.
Prof. Oduol's sentiment was backed by Makueni lawmaker Dan Maanzo who acknowledged the role played by NYS. However, he blamed cartels for keenly trying to bring down the institution.
Public Service Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo has downplayed the scandal saying that Sh.9 billion loss stated in the ongoing investigation is exaggerated.
