Respondents in a case challenging the election of Kisii county senator Sam Ongeri have filed an application seeking to object several paragraphs of the petition.
According to the respondents who are IEBC, county returning officer Sidney Namlungu and senator Ongeri, some parts in the case were copied from other petitions.
They were allowed to remove the parts by Thursday.
The hearing of the petition will start next Tuesday and the case will be handled by judge Winfridah Okwany.
Senior counsel and Nyamira Senator Okongo Omogeni will represent Ongeri in the case.
The petitioners, Charles Obera and George Ogake, want the court to nullify Ongeri's win citing that the election was marred by irregularities.
