Miruka says that the county government has failed to restore the town’s lost glory.

“The county government evicted hawkers from Central Business District (CBD) with intention of regaining the town's lost glory but it has failed,” said Miruka .

His remarks comes in the wake of hawkers resentment to the the county government over confiscation of their wares which were later piled at the county's headquarters.

Miruka says the retention of the hawkers wares at the county's headquarters is infringement of the hawkers' rights .

“Detaining hawkers wares is distressing their rights,” says Miruka.

Miruka said that the delay to return the wares to hawkers has subjected them to unbearable suffering.

“Some hawkers have been undergoing extreme suffering because the county government has failed to give them back their wares,” notes Miruka.

Addressing hawkers in Nakuru Town on Friday Miruka urged the county government to restore the town’s lost glory and address hawkers plight.
