Residents of Nzukini, Ekalakala, Masinga sub-county have pleaded with Kenya power Machakos to restore power in the area after 3 weeks of blackout.
According to the locals, the transformer that serves the area developed some technical issues and Kenya power picked it and promised to return it immediately after repair or exchange, but 3 weeks later nothing has happened.
Businesses in the area have been affected as those that rely on electricity such as welding, salons, milk storage are unable to operate and has resulted in massive losses for the businessmen.
Education has also been affected as schools such as Nzukini secondary school cannot conduct evening and morning preps and computer practicals and they hope this may affect their performance negatively.
