Residents of Kenya Israel, Miwani and Kanaani areas in Machakos county have called upon the government to beef up security again.
Speaking to several residents on Tuesday, they urged the police to resume patrols following recurring insecurity cases.
Josphat Nyamai a businessman states that there had been a gang terrorising residents but as a result of police patrols previously, the area had been secured until the patrols stopped.
"Yesterday four people were attacked by a gang of thieves because they have noticed that police patrols have stopped in the past few weeks," said Nyamai.
However, the residents expressed contentment to the police officers on previous days that have seen gangs arrested and security beefed up in the same areas.
In February early this year, the residents of lower Kiandani sub-county complained of increased insecurity by a gang of armed men where they called for a disarmament program.
The residents have further assured the police of corporation to ensure the attackers and law breakers are arrested.
