The Technical University of Kenya Vice Chancellor Francis Aduol has appealed to the government to resume sponsorship of diploma students studying at the institution.

Speaking during TUK's 5th Graduation ceremony in Nairobi, Aduol said the job market has confidence in the university for offering quality education.

"The University and its predecessor institutions, Kenya Polytechnic University College and Kenya Polytechnic had produced who-is-who in technology cadres across the public and private sectors," he said.

Prof Aduol said the institution was committed to offering quality technical training so as to serve the job market demands and national development agenda.

"We have the necessary equipment and manpower for training students and those in the industry who may wish to upgrade their skills," he added.

Speaking at the same ceremony, Chancellor Manu Chandaria thanked the students for keeping off political activism which he noted may have resulted in undesirable outcome during the electioneering period between August and October.
