Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua lost JP nominations fair and square,Jubilee leaders have said.

Two of Mr Mbugua’s allies, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri and his Nakuru Town West counterpart Samuel Arama want him to retire from active politics.

"The voters spoke loudly and said they want change in Nakuru. It is better that you quit respectfully and support the winner for the good of our county," said Ngunjiri.

Former National Transport and Safety Authority chairman chairman Lee Kinyanjui won the Jubilee ticket for Nakuru governor by garnered 216,871 votes against Mbugua's 150,137.

Mr Mbugua contested the results at the Jubilee Appeals Tribunal.

However, the appeal was dismissed prompting him to seek reelection as an Independent.
