Retired president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi was yesterday hailed as a hero during the Mashujaa day celebrations in Baringo County.
Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis in his address said Moi was a legendary leader who fought for this country for many years.
He said Moi was a leader whose years in power touched the lives of many.
He called upon other leaders to emulate him.
“Moi was a resilient political figure whose leadership serves for the advantage of all. Moi treated everyone equally and with respect.” Said Kiptis.
Moi the second president of Kenya ruled the country for 22 years before handing power to Kibaki in 2002.
The celebrations were also graced by Baringo Central MP Joshua Kandie, Deputy Governor Jacob Chepkwony and Women Representative Gladwel Tungo.
