Residents with illegal guns at Ikorongo have been warned and told to return them within 24 hrs to the security agents or else face the consequences.
Addressing residents on Wednesday at Ikorongo during a peace meeting the Rift Valley regional commissioner Wanyama Musiambo said that they will not give room to criminals.
Musiambo said that criminals are not from one community and they will deal with them as individuals.
“No community is considered as criminals but there are some in both communities within the borders we will deal with them as the criminals, not communities, we call upon those who have guns to surrender them within 24 hrs or else face the consequences,” said Musiambo.
Musiambo told them to take the guns to the nearest police station or to their chiefs.
“Today we have come here so that we set measures on how we can end this clashes within the communities in Trans Mara border, we cannot condone with the criminals, let them return the guns so that we can remain peaceful,” said Musiambo.
