Council of Governors (CoG) has asked striking doctors to resume duty by Wednesday or get fired.
Speaking on Monday during a meeting with governors, the council's Chair Peter Munya said state's pay offer to doctors was reasonable, further affirming the council's commitment to end the stalemate that has paralysed the health sector for over one month now.
"The government's offer is reasonable. The national and county governments will not pay any worker who is absent without lawful reason," Munya said.
"The council is committed to resolve the stalemate and see the resumption of health services," he added.
Munya, who is also the Meru Governor confirmed that all counties have been given a green light to fire striking doctors who fail to return to work by Wednesday.
Doctors have maintained their ground that they will not resume work until the government implements fully a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed in 2013 that would see the medics receive a 300 per cent pay increment.
