KRA Western Region Chief Domestic Taxes Department Compliance Manager, John Orioro said payment of due taxes was an obligation of all citizens as it provided the government with revenue to run and manage its arms.
Speaking in Kisumu, Thursday, said those who will not have filled their returns by closure of business on Friday June 30, will be penalised with the set Sh20,000 fee.
Oroiro also warned the tax payers against filing returns that are not genuine citing that this will incapacitate the government from achieving its set target of collecting Sh1.2 trillion during 2016/2017 financial year which comes to its end on June 30.
On his part, Western Region KRA Integrity Officer, Martin Gichango, cautioned tender bidders from giving incentives to procurement officers as a way of bribing their way into winning the tender awards.
