Rev David Githii, the former moderator of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) has urged church ministers to be true to the calling of God upon their lives.
Rev Githii said the ministers must stick to the true gospel without fear, favour or compromise.
“We must all know that we will account to God how we lived our lives, and more so the shepherds of the people who are entrusted much,” said Rev Githii.
Speaking at Kikuyu, he also said that he had started a church, 'Elgibbo Church' in Githurai within Kiambu County.
He said he was not going back to the PCEA, which humiliated him by giving him an abrupt retirement for pointing out the ills in the church that included demonic signs and homosexuality.
Rev Githii said he chose to start the church in Githurai, an area known as Gitambaya, since there were no churches in the area.
“My calling is to reach the unreached with the gospel, and following this burden God has put in my heart, I started this church to reach the people of Gitambaya with the gospel,” he said.
He has been labelled as a radical and most controversial preacher in the church who speaks his mind without second thoughts.
