Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba on Monday affirmed that he will pitch tents in different parts of his Busia County until Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) gubernatorial aspirant Sospeter Ojaamong does not clinch the seat in the forthcoming general elections.
Namwamba, who parted ways with Cord leader Raila Odinga, has insisted that he will teach the former prime minister a lesson when that time comes.
The legislator said that he will ensure that ODM does not win even a single seat during the upcoming general polls. Namwamba, who spoke in Funyula, said that he has formed a seven-member committee that will ensure Raila’s party does not win even a Member of County assembly (MCA) seat.
The team includes himself Busia Senator Amos Wako, Engineer Dan Barasa, Funyula MP Paul Otuoma, Humphrey Nakitare, Lucas Meso and Engineer Vincent Sidai.
“We will have one Luhya candidate to face Governor Sospeter Ojaamong at the General Election, whether ODM leader Raila Odinga will back him or not,” he said as quoted by Star.
The outspoken legislator added: “Ojaamong must fall”. Barasa has, however, dismissed the arrangement, saying that he is not part of it as alleged by Namwamba.
“I am also prepared to battle it out for the governor ticket on the Jubilee Party ticket without anybody’s support. I cannot step down for any other candidate,” Barasa said.
His remarks were also reiterated by Sidia who said that he has not met Namwamba over the same. “I cannot be Otuoma’s running mate. It is Otuoma who should be my running mate,” he said.
