Nyamira County boss John Nyagarama has reportedly invited both ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto to the burial of his son end-month.
The ODM second term governor, who is in the US for treatment, is reportedly keen to have the two as part of spreading peace and unity across the country.
"We were instructed to alert the respective offices by the governor and apparently both have confirmed attendance," said a source who spoke in confidence.
The source added: "He wants all of them attend as part of the peace initiative. The governor is keen to be part of the team that wants a united country."
While the meeting may not be the first between the two, it will definitely be the first to be attended by both in front of a huge public gathering.
Even though the exact burial of Mr. Ndemo Nyagarama is yet to be confirmed, the burial committee has placed June 29th as the tentative date.
Nyagarama is in the US for treatment and is expected to jet back to the country later next week ahead of the ceremony scheduled in Borabu constituency.
