Fresh details have emerged on the amount of money Deputy President William Ruto dished to Gusii MPs to attend a summit in Naivasha in a bid to foster unity among the community.
While the meeting was boycotted by Governors James Ongwae (Kisii) and John Nyagarama (Nyamira), at least 12 MPs from the region attended.
A source privy to the meeting however intimates that the DP gave Sh100, 000 per attendee per day, summing it up to Sh200, 000 for two days they attended.
"It was highly mobilised and there was facilitation of course. Each attendee received Sh200, 000 from the DP besides being fully facilitated," said a source privy to the meeting.
He further said: "They also received an additional Sh100, 000 from the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i."
Key among the agenda of the Sunday meeting was formation of a single party that could propel aspirations on he community in 2022 polls.
The DP is keen to have Gusii community voting him in 2022 after decades of allegiance to Raila Odinga.
