[Photo|Nasa coalition]The National Super Alliance (Nasa) unveiled a mobile pay bill number, a Cooperative bank account number and a GoFundMe account, asking its supporters and well wishers to donate any amount of money to them, with aims to fund its presidential campaigns.Presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka unveiled the campaign on September 8, at the Okoa Kenya Offices, bringing hope of the 'journey to Canaan', to their supporters, across Kenya and diaspora.Reports indicate that the alliance has made wonderful steps in its contributions, despite criticism from their Jubilee Party rivals, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.It is reported that within six days after the campaign was unveiled, the alliance which is optimistic of sending Uhuru back to his Gatundu home come October 17, had raised upto slightly Sh1.53 million, from 115 people.Within seven days, the amount is said to have reached slightly above Sh1.86 million from 154 contributors.Besides that, Nasa supporters in diaspora especially in the US, are said to have made a pledge to come up with a whooping Sh5.3 million for the presidential campaign despite Odinga, asking each Kenyan to contribute as little as Sh10."All over the world, political campaigns are funded by the people. So its not new thing in Kenya. We all know Jubilee is using public resources and government vehicles for campaigns. Nasa doesn't have that capacity, and of course it is illegal," Raila defended the presidential campaign donations, after a church service at Isinya, Kajiado county, Sunday."If 10 million Kenyans send Sh10 each, we will have Sh100 million. This time, every presidential candidate is funding his campaign. Help us fund our campaign," Raila said, Friday September 8.Leaders allied to the alliance had also pledged to forgo their first salaries to contribute for the coalition's presidential campaign.
