COTU secretary-general Francis Atwoli has revealed that behind-the-scenes efforts are ongoing to bring President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga to the table of dialogue.

Speaking in Kisumu, Raila Odinga's turf, Atwoli called on President Uhuru Kenyatta not to chest-thump but to involve all Kenyans in his government

''We are making efforts at our own level so that they can sit around a table to talk. Kenya is big. You cannot say you want to eat alone.'' Atwoli said.

The trade union leader has been at the frontline of calling for dialogue as a way of resolving the political crisis in the country.

Appearing on Jeff Koinange Live about two months ago, Atwoli said he was very willing to invest his time and energy in bringing Odinga and Kenyatta to the table of dialogue.

President Kenyatta is set to be sworn in on Tuesday for his second and final term.

NASA intends to hold a rally at Jacaranda Stadium aimed at mourning those who lost their lives during Odinga's homecoming.
