According to an official working at the board, problems began when a section of some powerful regional politicians started dictating the do's and don'ts at the agency, leading to poor service delivery.

The official who sought anonymity given the sensitivity of the matter, further added that services at the board collapsed immediately the counties took over the docket.

Just recently, reports emerged that the Township MP was working towards having the water services be reverted back to the national government to end the crisis which has now reached its peak.

However, officers from the county government, in response, stated that Duale was politicizing the water issue for his own political gains.

But even as the blame game continues, the residents are staring at waterborne diseases since they cannot get access to clean water for domestic use.
