Opposition leader Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka are set to jet back to the country this weekend after two days of absence.
While Odinga is in UK where he delivered a public lecture and Chatham House, Musyoka is in US where he is also meeting top government officials regarding political impasse in the country.
Lawyer James Orengo said Odinga is expected in the country on Saturday evening ahead of Sunday’s Mombasa rally with Kalonzo also expected before Monday.
“Our principals are currently out of the country but Odinga will be back on Saturday,” he said, adding that Musyoka will also jet within the weekend.
He further said: “we shall have our rally in Mombasa as scheduled and demonstrations will go on as planned.”
US authorities have dismissed claims that Odinga had been denied entry to the states, insisting that he is free to visit.
A standoff has ensued between political class and IEBC with Odinga insisting that he will not take part in October 26th polls.
