ODM leader Raila Odinga would have after all read a concession speech should the Supreme Court ruled against his petition.

For the second time in less than five years, Odinga had to challenge elections of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the Supreme Court, with 2013 memories fresh in his mind.

And after intensive court battle, the former PM made an appearance in court to listen to the verdict unlike Uhuru who only sent representatives.

A source who spoken in confidence to the reporter says Odinga had only prepared a concession speech where he was set to address his suppers to accept the verdict and move on.

“He is a nationalist and definitely he had prepared a speech that was to be read should the judgment went against his will,” says the source.

The source adds:”He was basically going to thank his supporters for supporting is bid and encourage them to respect constitutionalism of the country. He was also to propose fundamental electoral surgery.”

But with the verdict going his way, Odinga had to hurriedly go to Karen where he ordered his aides to prepared another version of speech the praised the Supreme Court ruling.

Most paragraphs of the speech are said to focus on his journey in politics and contribution to democracy along worth transparency in electoral processes, a more of a concession speech.
