It has now emerged that Deputy President William Ruto has come up with a planning targeting NASA governors ahead of the 2022 presidential election bid.
Acording to the Star, Ruto is expected to launch a frenetic and aggressive approach to poach influential and popular governors believed not be in good terms with NASA chiefs.
This, Ruto believes, will shore up grassroots backing for his bid, as he prepares to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The paper reports that if governors come ob board, they will tag along MPs and Senators who will work from the grassroot level.
It will also be supported by Jubilee-friendly poll losers in NASA strongholds who will get plum government jobs after the UhuRuto Cabinet reshuffle in three weeks.
The opposition has claimed the ruling party is blackmailing and intimidating some of its leaders to toe the line and support Jubilee.
According to NASA, the government has threatened to inflate taxes owed by businesses owned by opposition chiefs.
