It now appears like the individuals in a list of people implicated in corruption will never be brought to justice. This is after the list, presented about two years ago in parliament, has been dismissed on a technicality. The EACC is now in a state of resignation over its inability to successfully bring the corrupt to justice as revealed by a letter seen by the Standard newspaper.''Pending the hearing and determination of an appeal to the Supreme Court, all the affected matters be withdrawn as and when they come up for hearing or mention.'' Part of the letter written to Keriako Tobiko reads.Every time the EACC has swung into action against corrupt state officers, the affected state officers have always sought refuge in courts which have been all too willing to play their game.As the world celebrated the World Anti-corruption Day, it became increasingly clear that the war on graft is far from won and it appears that the corrupt are winning. The need for the courts to make their contribution by ensuring the guilty don't go scot-free has never been greater.
