Police in Nyamira County have identified areas where they are likely to face security challenges in the fresh presidential election set for Thursday, October 26, 2017.
Some of the places which have earmarked as electoral violence hotspots include; Kiabonyoru Ward, Rigoma Ward, Matongo, Misambi, Kebirigo and Kijauri.
Others are Miruka Market, Nyamonge, Nyamira Township, Nyaututu and Magwagwa.
However, county's returning officer Samson Mayo said despite the challenges they are prepared for the exercise.
"We have enough security agents who will be deployed to every polling station in the county. We are urging voters to turn out in large numbers because we are ready to handle any eventuality with strict adherence to the rule of law," Mayo told the Nation.
