The Busia senator yesterday made it clear that he would not attend the 14-day retreat as had requested during the NASA summit meeting with senators at Panafric hotel.

Furthermore, the Ford-Kenya party leader said that he was no longer interested in the Senate leader of minority seat.

"I shall and will not participate in that retreat. I will not even if offered by Raila and his ODM party takes up the seat of minority leader," said Wetangula.

But who was behind this sudden change of mind that Wetang'ula suddenly made?

During an interview with Citizen TV on Sunday, Kiminini member of parliament, Chris Wamalwa, said that a host of professionals including Bungoma leaders advised him to take the decision.

According to Mr. Wamalwa, the decision was made with the reason that Wetang'ula was elected by Bungoma people whom he should be listening to.

"Am aware a lot of consultations have been going on between the council of elders from the western region- the Luhya Council of elders, between the professionals, between the youths.between the business community and they've been telling him please do not go for this seat of minority leader," confirmed Mr. Wamalwa
