There is a great political battle in the Rift Valley between Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi as 2022 general election nears.
Moi who is the KANU party leader has began the journey to familiarize his 2022 bid as the political temperature in the country is yet to rise.
Emurua Dikir Member of Parliament Johana Ng'eno while speaking on behalf of Gideon Moi revealed that he (Moi) will begin touring the Rift Valley to enlighten the people about his bid.
“We plan to tour every part of Rift Valley and to tell the people that Gideon Moi will be on the ballot in 2022 so they should not be misled by anyone that only Ruto will be on the ballot.” Hon. Ng'eno said on Friday as quoted by kenyans.co.ke
After covering the Rift Valley, Moi is expected to embark on a national tour where he will reportedly visit Nyanza region to express his gratitude for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for accepting to work with president Uhuru Kenyatta.
KANU secretary general Nick Salat said Moi's decision to hold a national tour is meant to introduce himself to the people of Kenya as President Kenyatta's successor.
Salat also revealed that Moi will on Sunday attend a church service with ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna in Siaya and later have discussions with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho in Mombasa.
"After Mombasa, we will attend a church service in Nyeri or Muranga at a date to be announced next month. We believe our party leader is the best man to succeed Uhuru," Hon. Salat said.
Gideon Moi and William Ruto are possibly the greatest contestants of the 2022 presidential race despite coming from the same region.
