Despite all passengers and the crew perishing in Aberdares air-crash, captain Barbara Kamau also saved the lives of those on board, it has now emerged.
Having lost the Air Control at Wilson, Ms Kamau, a four star captain, could not fly higher due to the presence of Etihad and Emirates in the same route.
And now flying blind without guidance, says journalist Jepkorir Lagat, Barbara noticed a hill which she tried to avoid.
"By the time she figured the hill on her own, she made a quick turn to avoid the collision and she was about successful when the left wing hit the hill.
"In that confusion, Barbara spilled fuel off the plane and because of that, the plane did not explode," she says.
Apparently, sources say that Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa could have been part of the victims only that he cancelled the trip at the eleventh hour.
