[Photo|Musalia Mudavadi]It has now emerged that President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party is working round the clock to politically finish off Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi ahead of 2022 general elections.ANC chairman Kelvin Lunani told the Star, that Jubilee was using insiders in the National Super Alliance (Nasa), where Mudavadi is a co-principal, to bring down the former vice president. The local daily reported that Lunani confirmed Jubilee was using former ANC Secretary General Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi to scuttle Mudavadi's 2022 political ambitions, the way it happened in 2013 when he headed the United Democratic Forum (UDF).During the time, Uhuru lured Mudavadi, only for him to drop him at the last minute, forcing Mudavadi to go solo on the ballot. He came third after Raila Odinga, in the election which saw Uhuru declared victor. The plot include taking most of the issues within the party to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, Lucy Ndung'u instead of solving them internally.According to him, the recent trouble within the ANC party is the appointment of Barack Muluka to succeed Osotsi, after a National Executive Committee meeting on October 12 in Nairobi."The script has all the hallmarks of how Jubilee caused instability in UDF after the 2013 election because the so-called petitioners unlawfully prefer the Registrar of Political Parties rather than reporting any grievance to the internal dispute mechanism," reported the daily, as said by Lunani. The appointment has been challenged at the Registrar of Political Parties by eight ANC members, allegedly allied to Osotsi, led by Ibrahim Memba. On Wednesday, ANC's Lugari MP Ayub Savula threatened that ANC would pull out of the NASA coalition if they keep on being treated unfairly. He said ANC was hinting at declaring Mudavadi as 2022 presidential candidate, instead of staying in a "coalition that doesn't work."The statement followed alleged unfair appointments to the National Assembly leadership. On several occasions, Mudavadi has remained steadfast that his party is firmly in NASA.
