Senior Lawyer James Orengo made Jubilee administration believe that NASA was not going to file a presidential petition after all, says Gideon Mamboleo.
Before filing the petition, Orengo had dismissed the idea of NASA going to court adding that they were ready to use other mean to secure justice.
And the renowned political pundit says Orengo’s utterances were well calculated to confuse government about the opposition’s next move.
“Orengo is a learned guy and he knew that the next move was going to court. He must have kept on playing people’s mind and that worked a bit.
“He confused Jubilee lawyers and they had to go back to drawing board and that is the sad reality. He could have done that to ensure evidence was not destroyed,” he further says.
On Saturday night, NASA filed a petition in Supreme Court opposition reelection of Uhuru Kenyatta after a tough battle that saw millions of Kenyans voting.
At Siaya, Orengo was reelected after garnering many votes despite him not concentrating on local campaigns in the recently concluded elections.
