NASA leader Raila Odinga slept at unknown location hours to his swearing-in to avoid police crackdown, his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed.
At a fully packed Uhuru Park, Raila took oath with minimal interference from the police contrary to initial expectations.
"We held a meeting prior to the swearing-in, we meet at some place and Raila decided not to sleep at his home due to reports that police were to arrest him.
"This must have worked for him because the three of us (Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula) had our security withdrawn making it impossible to reach at Uhuru Park," he said.
A lonely Raila made his way to the venue moments past 2pm, raising anxiety over the whereabouts of other principals.
Despite claims that police had planned to put NASA leaders under house arrest, the government has since dismissed the claims as 'propaganda'.
