NASA leader Raila Odinga [Photo | Kenya-today.com]A new report by privacy international(PI) - a UK registered charity that defends the right to privacy has found out that a Texas-based political media company that worked for Donald Trump generated online attack campaigns against Raila Odinga in the run-up to the August presidential vote.In the report, Haris Media, the company, generated ads on Google through anonymous sights: Uhuru for us and The Real Raila.Stated in PI's report, The campaigns that rooted for president Kenyatta and tainted Raila Odinga were on behalf of the President's reelection campaign.The report asserts that The Uhuru For Us Twitter account, created in March of this year, still appears linked to a Harris Media email address and that Harris Media staff members, including Josh Canter, its vice president for content production, worked on The Raila site.Haris media hasn't acknowledged it's work in Kenya and neither has it responded to the allegations.Jubilee party secretary General Raphael Tuju, has denied knowledge of the two sites. 'Uhuru for Us' and 'The Real Raila'. NASA coalition has not responded to the report.Privacy International adds that it did not uncover how Harris Media devised the targeting for its online campaigns in Kenya.“It was clear that whoever sponsored them had a lot of money to spend,” Privacy International notes.Initially, it was believed that a British mining company, Cambridge Analytica was behind the social media accounts running through Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
