Speaking at Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu County, Ms Odinga noted that she had questioned the former Prime Minister of the preferred list of candidates that has rocked the headlines.

"I have personally asked 'Jakom' over the alleged list of preferred candidates and he assured me that there is no such a thing," said Ida.

"We must ensure all candidates are given fair and levelled playground so that the electorate can second leaders of their choice," she added.

Odinga's wife further mentioned that candidates dissatisfied with the party's primaries will have an opportunity to appeal.

Her sentiments come while there has been a dispute in ODM over the nomination of leaders.

Last week, Governor Kidero launched a complaint against ODM Director of Elections Junet Mohamed whom he accused of saying that Kidero would not get the party's ticket.

“I have information that Hon Mohamed loudly swore to those who were seated with him and within the hearing of the entire restaurant that, I Governor Kidero will not be a candidate of Nairobi since the party has already decided to deny me the party ticket for the 2017 General Election,” reads Kidero's letter in part.
