A section of Wiper leaders is pushing for former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka to be named the official opposition leader.
According to the politicians, the union between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga means there is no opposition.
The leaders spoke at the AIC Church in Athi River, Machakos County on Sunday.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga should concentrate on uniting Kenyans to move the country forward and be ready to be over sighted by us, with Kalonzo Musyoka as the official opposition leader,” said Matungulu MP Stephen Mule.
Mule said it is evident that the two leaders are speaking the same language hence the need for another team to play an oversight role against the Jubilee government.
“You should let Kalonzo be the official opposition leader since you are already intimate with the Jubilee Government,” Mule added.
His sentiments were echoed by Mavoko MP Patrick Makau who said the nation cannot achieve its development goals without a leader of the opposition.
“Raila has joined the government. The country cannot stay without Opposition, we cannot all join the government,” Makau said.
The handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga has changed the political landscape of this nation.
