With President Uhuru Kenyatta expected to face off with his political nemesis Raila Odinga in the repeat Presidential poll scheduled for next month, Kwale County is once again in the spotlight even as the two political heavyweights scheme to outmaneuver each other.
During the August 8 poll, Raila Odinga once again reigned supreme after garnering 138,664 votes compared to Uhuru's 43,812. However, Jubilee is keen to turn the tables and beat Raila in the October contest.
According to the area Governor Salim Mvurya who is the Jubilee point man in the region, they will traverse the coastal county campaigning for the President to ensure he beats Raila this time round.
Mvurya, the former ODM Governor, said that they will hire matatus to facilitate logistics during their campaigns to spread the Jubilee gospel in the county which has proved hard to penetrate.
"We are going to operate everywhere till everyone gets to know about President Uhuru Kenyatta," Mvurya was quoted by the Star.
The Jubilee team is keen to use Jubilee's development initiatives in the county to springboard Uhuru's re-election bid.
