The Jubilee Party will unveil campaign in Raila Odinga’s Nyanza bedrock in a bid to garner at least 150,000 votes from area counties in 2017.
The party will also organize mega campaigns in which President Uhuru Kenyatta will us to launch several development projects, with an aim of wooing the region’s voters who have traditionally voted the opposition.
Siaya County Jubilee Coordinator Atieno Otieno said the plan would help the president penetrate in hostile regions.
“As Jubilee, we are planning to hold a series of campaign rallies in Luo Nyanza to solidify of candidates support. It will not be business as usual,” she told the Star.
“Our candidate will be attending a number of those rallies where we shall also launch development projects. We are targeting at least 150,000 votes from all Luo Nyanza Counties,” she added.
The party has already elected interim officials in Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay and Migori counties where Raila enjoy overwhelming support.
