President Uhuru Kenyatta met a dissenting Supreme Court judge on Saturday, few days to delivery of full judgment that annulled his victory, claims NASA leadership.
Of the six bench Supreme Court judges, majority, four, cancelled Uhuru’s victory on grounds that IEBC failed to adhere to strict provisions of the constitution and electoral laws.
Without directly mentioning the name, Raila Odinga, who won the presidential petition, said the judge was invited at State House to analyze her dissenting opinion on annulment.
“I have information that a dissenting Supreme Court judge was invited by Uhuru at State House and spent the entire Saturday there. I challenge him to deny,” said Odinga, during his Friday media briefing.
His deputy, Kalonzo Musyoka added:”The same judge openly violated rules of court by attacking her fellow colleagues during full judgment.”
With only two ladies in the bench, it would lead to logical conclusion that the judge in question is Njoki Ndung’u, given that her counterpart, Philomena Mwilu was among the majority decision makers.
In her dissent, Njoki said, the majority judges ignored the will of the people, adding that the court should have ordered fresh recount of ballot papers.
