Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya, now says three of the NASA coalition principals were locked up in one room to prevent them from attending the swearing-in.
NASA leader Raila Odinga, took oath of office and declared himself People’s President in a ceremony held at the historic Uhuru Park grounds, in absence of his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka, and co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Wetangula.
Odinga explained their absence to thousands of supporters saying Kalonzo would be sworn-in later.
Explaining their absence, Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula sent a statement to the press shortly after missing the inauguration, saying they failed to show up "due to circumstances beyond our comprehension and control.”
However, it has emerged that the three were blocked from accessing the venue after withdrawal of their security detail. On Wednesday Wetangula's party twitted:
"It's quite unfortunate that our 3 principals security details was suddenly withdrawn, locked in one room, and their entourage to Uhuru Park blocked."
"This will not stop our quest for electoral justice," added Ford Kenya.
The trio had affirmed that the coalition was strong and that they would meet "to address the immense challenges facing this country."
