Members of the Parliamentary Service Commission have been barred from joining more than one committee on the grounds that their work requires total keenness.The development comes in the wake of the increase of House Committees that have led to the creation of  642 slots from 554 that will allow other members, other than those in the PSC, to be members of two committees.Also affected are committee chairpersons who will not be allowed to join more than one committee.Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang' hailed the development as welcome as it would ensure effectiveness.''This parliament runs on two committees. We want the chairmen to be more accountable and responsible. The chairmen should not be members of more than two committees.'' The Ruaraka MP said according to the Daily Nation.The House Rules Committee based its decision to prevent PSC members from joining more than one committee on the nature of its work.
