Daily Nation reported that a law enforcement official and an investigator confirmed that the four had been flown to the US.

Lawyer Cliff Ombeta appeared before a Mombasa Court, Monday, to represent his clients (the four), who were linked to drug trafficking.

Ombeta told the Court, that his clients Baktash Akasha, Gulam Hussein, Ibrahim Akasha, and Vijay Goswami were missing, and that there was a possibility the government could have arrested them.

The lawyer told the Court his clients were allegedly arrested for harbouring two 'dangerous' South Africans who had a container believed to be carrying illegal products, in Mombasa, and was yet to be cleared.

However, the police officers who preferred anonymity, declined to provide further details about extradition of the four, since the case was still in Court.

Principal Prosecution Counsel Jami Yamina refuted Ombeta's allegations, saying the government was not aware of the whereabouts of the three.

He asked Mombasa Chief Magistrate Julius Nang'ea to issue warrants of arrest against them.

The Magistrate however declined to issue any orders, and instead referred the matter to the High Court.

He said the Court lacked jurisdiction over the case.

High Court Judge Njoki Mwangi further ordered the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Ndegwa Muhoro to produce the four in court.
