Details have emerged on circumstances that led to the cancellation of NASA rally in the Coast region.

NASA leaders had planned to campaign in the region on Saturday before being called off.

It has now emerged that no consultations were made ahead of the rally, where local leaders were not incorporated in the planning.

According to Mombasa county chair, Mohamed Hatimy Nairobi planned the tour and later canceled it without explanation.

"It was Nairobi. We did not get any explanation," said Hatimy as quoted by the Star.

According to a NASA source, Matuga MP Hassan Mwanyoha and his predecessor Chirau Mwakwere had asked questions why they were ambushed with the tour information.

"You know many people were not aware of this tour and had their own plans. I think the bosses saw the complaints were too much and decided to cancel," said a source quoted by the Star.

Jubilee is set to have two meetings in Mombasa on Sunday and Monday.
